THE MENACE OF PROMISCUOUS BEHAVIORS AMONG OUR YOUTHS.
The youths of today in our societies are very so antisocial in their behaviors and lifestyle. Although, the blame on these societal vices are not one sided, there are key players today who channel all these illicit and illegality of our social management.
However, many psychologists experts and scholars had research -shown on how adolescent and youthful period of an individual dictate his/her own behavior that is either what the society endorsed or the figments of their own imagination. For the former no problem, as for the latter this is where every Moral principles of societal norms, culture and ethics are usually being put to test on the individual behavior and living as a member of the society.
Therefore, the promiscuous behaviors among our youths today is never something imaginative or rather it was originated from the very foundation of our societies.
More so, going by the view point of psychologists, adolescent period of every individual that is (from age 12-18years) is the most critical stage and period of human being. Very critical in the sense that, they are promoting from formative stage to a stage where every lessons and experiences they received would be vying each other to be practical. Thus they need concrete evidence in order to be convinced. Here parents and guardians have to double their efforts based on giving that particular child s strict moral, social and religious discipline and impose self-restrain and self-control in them. Because at this stage an individual is exposed to the wider world with all its lustfulness and complexities such as ; they will make peer group, striving to have autonomy, to be themselves with freedom and struggling to have a partner for sex competition.
In trying to have that autonomy and freedom these is always in conflict between the choices of the child and the choice of the parents. The child will think he is being oppressed and dictated on how he will live his own life, which he can never succumb. He will be always seeking his own choice and interest prevails over the parents'.
In the case where patents failed on their duties in giving Moral training, it is what would bring us on the topic of the essay which is the promiscuous behavior among our youths. The typical case study of Baruten societies where we are living in decaying environment in which moral bankruptcy is reigning in the arena of illiteracy and pervasive ignorance. Our youths today are engaged in every form immoral and illicit behavior like; smoking, drinking and forms of intoxication. Over dozing themselves with unnecessarily administration of pills and syrups, these affect our society in many ways among them are; ubiquitous criminal tendency and criminal behavior,irresponsibleness, arrogance, disobedience, neurosis diseases, derelict living, broken homes and poverty. Etc.
Today due to the negative effect of these social vices resulted into our realities we are battling in the societies. Its bring the increase rate of illegal sexual intercourse, illiteracy and ignorance, poverty and theft within and among the youths that make us a society that is moving without progress, the journey that can never end based on based on degeneration and underdevelopment.
Moreover, all these vices of our societies and the antisocial behaviors among our youths can solved or reduced into a reasonable percentage through these recommendations and suggestive points:
• There should be a special enforcement agency that can look to that effect of drug abuse and smoking of our youths.
• There has to be a strict Moral discipline and enlightenment training centers for our youths. That is a governmental platform where youths in school and outside schools can be educated both moral and social aspect of living.
• Government should enforce special act enacted by the state legislative that can deal with the prohibition and prevention of illegal drugs administration for time being.
• Parents should help the teachers in training their children from homes before they get into responsible age at schools.
