THE CELEBRATION OF BURIED LOVE AMONG TODAY NIGERIANS
Here is the how the story end;
After his(Mr John) long boring story. of which I couldn't all assimilate or not much interested about, yet I make sense of some few critical but important part of it. To me its heart-touching that wedded my emotional and psychological dissatisfaction. Let me not make it appeared more bore than it was by adding more stray. After the end of the incessant blessings and prolong gestures of gratitude he clustered on me, My son, he said. I'm married for twenty five years now, blessed with three children, two males and a female. Of which the first are currently running their undergraduate degree program, I'm a low civil servant working as a teacher in public primary school. ( I yearned and released little unnecessary cough, upon hearing his last words). To be honest with you my son. He proceed, I almost exhausted my working years not left with more than three years now to retire. All those my two decades in the civil service I couldn't able to save enough for my family from crumbling financially. For my salary isn't enough to face the challenges when residing in the city. ( I adjusted my legs to relief them from muscle sore by placing them in same spot for so long ). So I decided to workout transfer to my hometown (a village), but the challenge I had was already my two children are in school, leaving them wouldn't be good for them. But nothing could be done, we have no any choice than to leave the city If only I want my children to continue their education without been dropout due to financial issues. ( by this time I glanced my watch, I have less than fifteen minutes to listen his life story). When he realized I'm beginning to lose interest, he tried best to summarized it in a more condense form. Mike if not for his hardworking attitude( his first son), I would have being in total mess than this. To tell you since my protracted illness of diabetes of which I spend all the little savings I had, in fact that would not be enough for the treatment I have to obtain bank loan. Ever since then, I could not be able to pay their school fees save for the aid of Mike income from his bakery work. You know to struggle to pay for both of them isn't easy for him?( I nodded my head to answer him). I see nothing more to show them my love and gratitude than coming down from my village to their school just to pay them visit time by time. My son that is how I encountered with mal. Yakubu. I stood for awhile battling my emotions,then I stared at Mal. Yakubu with snare. Trying to pity Mr.John, but then I remembered my vow(that I wouldn't side anyone) after all who will blame the innocent pity okader-man? He has to feed his family. Quickly enough I gave my judgement; they were both right only that they don't know their common enemy; I realized that for them, they are fighting two enemies: the masked villain- hunger, and the bold-opened poverty. These two evils when one is possessed by them, sorry they wouldn't leave your bodies until you fight each other to bleeding. No amount of sophisticated exoticism will do any good. And I think the machineries of these evils are the oriented political-eliticism governance of our nation.
GINA WEEKEND COLUMN.: I discuss my experience, opinion on Nigeria politics. And give my commentary on the social, economic and cultural happenings. All these are base on my understanding and conviction of Nigeria society. Thus comments and objective criticism are most welcome.
