PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE : MY OWN PERSONAL ACCESSEMENT

      By: HABIBU GENTE
Date:  Wednesday 29 2017

The nail has been heated on the head today on the pending issues that hovered on the candidates' speculations based on their competency and vibrancy.  To some is like they silenced their critics , while to others is just a stepping stone toward gaining the popularity  of the electorates. Whichever is the case, it is still a great contest between the two. And consequently depict their aptitude and individual intellectualism .
  The hot contest between Kabir Lawal D. (Kwaro) and Auwal Mukhtar  Sirajo,  it is a beautiful one of its kind. Although the political ribaldry  displayed by their die-hard supporters tarred most of the responses emanated from them. And in the same vain , obstruct the thoughts provoking questions that might have come from the audiences. It is very bad indeed, that said.
I commend the two debaters for their bravery gestures in attempting the  numerous but challenging questions . Though ,there are some deficiencies in them. Some logical lapses and incoherent style they adopted in ways of approaching keys issues in their manifestos. Anyway,  they will not suffer the blame alone. However,  the Caretaker Committee too,  contributed on the follies accentuated in the Congress. Their poor organization did a incurable damage to the whole event.  I hope such mistake will not repeat itself in the future.
     My judgment goes like this;
The most impressive part of the debate and the best responses both the candidates could ever give the audiences,  is the first question thrown to them  by the Chairman CTC. If my memory could serve me well,  the question is something like this "everyone know and complain about the degeneration of LSS and the malfunction it's suffered by the previous administrations. So what tools did you have to revive the LSS?"
MR. Auwal response went like this; " the only tools that I think can revive LSS is two;  Representation and Development ". Although,  he didn't explained those tools and how they could help in reviving the  "death LSS".
MR. Kwaro response went like this;  " What i think that can help in reviving LSS is for us to adopt the philosophical approach.  And the tools are Unity,  equality,  and mutual relationship ". Of course he too,  didn't analyze those tools and how they could be of help in reviving the 'death LSS'.
      To me these responses from the candidates are the best so far they gave throughout the debate. All the rest are just noises they made,  and perpetually deviating from the questions when attempting to answer them.  Too sad indeed.
     HERE IS MY MESSAGE TO EVERY ELECTORATES
Please vote wisely  without fear or intimidation from any of the candidates or their die-hard supporters . And bore in minds that someone has to win and someone will lose.  So never allow any politicians to use you as machinery to invest in their 'vested insterests'' so much that you become his blind supporter that will lead you to taint your relationship with others who oppose him. I hope I could say much,  but I ran out of space. So let us watch the battle with keen interest, peacefully and wisely.
